Subject	Spent a few days cleaning my engine bay..

Message	Spent about 3-4 days de-greasing my 23yr old engine bay after pulling the motor out for my TT conversion on my 2+2. Started off removing a few things to gain access to trouble areas... then Gunk brand Gel.. let it sit.. then power washed with electric power washer.. I had some areas where the factory cosmoline was gummy and faded.. I used gasoline on a rag and let it sit on the really bad areas for about 2 mins.. then it wiped right off. WD-40 also worked very well in some areas.. with a fine bristle nylon brush. I then wet sanded 2000 grit (lightly) with dish soap and warm water.. Then used meguiars Ultimate rubbing compound by hand and terry cloth.. then the Ultimate polish.. I was pretty impressed on how well it came out.. I also re-routed a few things like the fuse/relay box in engine bay and cleaned up a few odds and ends. Also relocated power steering reservoir to another area.. near nose panell but still higher up than pump. Here is the before.. I wish I had the time to do a full shave and weld up the un used holes in engine bay.. but that is just going to have to be a winter project when I get the whole car painted.. I also installed a new TT EFI harness and had some blood sweat and tears go with it :) Fun fun work :) Just a few more things and I will be ready to install a TT motor.. ~~~ Sig starts below ~~~ NO, This picture is not photoshopped.
